New Master Artist is an independent art marketplace that gives almost anyone a way to become an artist. Art uploaded to the site receive ratings by qualified experts and can join public competitions. Competitions are listed with the organizer name, art needed, awards, deadlines, number of entries, who is voting and how to submit work. The marketplace portion of the site displays artwork by category. Categories include painting, drawing, photo, mixed media, sculpture and more. Users can also filter by country, size, main color, style, theme, subject, feeling, upload date, number of expert ratings, artist representation and art education of artist. Each piece is displayed with details about the work and artist as well as price information (if available).

This takes the user to the login form, which includes three links to the right. Users can choose the link that corresponds with the type of user they are, which includes a visitor, artist or expert. Visitors are asked for their title, first and last name, country, email address and password. The user must complete account activation by email before signing in.

New Master Artist invites all users to sign up for free. Every user receives the same level of access and can view all art uploaded to the site. There are no restrictions and the user isn’t required to pay a subscription fee or make a purchase. The site allows artists to list pieces for sale, which a user could buy. This is left entirely up to the user and is not a requirement to keep an account open.

New Master Artist is ideal for two types of people: those who make art and those who love to look at art. The website contains a wide range of art in various forms. Users can filter search results to view pieces based on color, medium, artist education level, expert rating and other criteria. The interface lets users of all levels navigate easily while taking in a collection of underground art.
